Objective
🎯 The project aims to facilitate the responsible development of alternative proteins (insect-based 🦗, plant-based 🫘, and synthetic meat 🥩🥼) in Europe, contributing to the creation of a sustainable, diverse, and innovative food system involving multiple stakeholders.
Countries involved and partners
🌍 Covering five different national contexts—Austria, France, Ireland, Norway, and Romania—the project investigates a range of issues related to the sustainable transition to the responsible production, distribution, and consumption of meat substitutes.
🍲 Traditional food habits and cultural norms vary greatly across Europe, creating a complex landscape for the introduction of alternative proteins.
🔗 The project therefore proposes an innovative approach that integrates a wide range of contextual factors, including social, cultural, legislative, and economic aspects, as well as psychological, ethical, and ideological considerations.
🧩 This holistic perspective allows for a deep and nuanced understanding of the issues addressed, ensuring a solution tailored to their complexity.
Stakeholders involvement
👥 ComMEATted seeks the active involvement of a diverse panel of stakeholders throughout the research process, from consumers, policymakers, and NGOs to industry and media representatives.
🚧 This collaborative approach to knowledge creation offers valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with the transition to alternative proteins.
